06The method
How this shortlist was put together, and what it deliberately leaves out
The word 'best' usually hides a ranking nobody can check. Here is the method instead, stated plainly enough that you can disagree with it.
Every candidate for best love simulator was opened cold on a phone browser and a laptop, taken through a first conversation, closed, and reopened two days later. That last step is the one most comparisons skip, and it is where roughly half of them fall over: the character greets you as a stranger and the thread you built is gone.
Six criteria carried the assessment — memory across sessions, control over tone mid-conversation, reply latency, what the free tier covers before a card is requested, what the service stores, and whether anything has to be installed. They are weighted by how often each one ruins an evening, not by how impressive it sounds in a feature list. Memory and tone control matter more than model names, because they are what you notice on day three.
What is not here: star ratings, user quotes, download counts and live-activity counters. None of those were measured, and inventing them would make the rest of the page untrustworthy. Where something is a matter of taste rather than a fact — how flirty is too flirty, whether a slow reply reads as thoughtful or broken — it is described and left to you.

Context carries between sessions rather than resetting on every visit, so names, plans and running jokes come back without you re-explaining them. This is the single biggest difference between a simulator worth returning to and a chatbot demo.
05Can I change her personality after we have started?
At any point, including in the middle of a conversation. Tone and pace are adjustable and the change applies from the next message, so you never have to abandon a thread to get a different mood.
06Are the characters real people?
No, and they are never presented as such. Every character is a fictional AI persona written as an adult. Any resemblance to a real person is coincidental, and no photograph on this site shows anyone you can contact.
07How private is this in practice?
There is no contact import, no public profile grid and no social graph to leak into. Conversations can be deleted, and because nothing installs, the only trace on your device is the browser history you control.
08Why does this site not publish scores or user reviews?
Because we did not run a survey and did not collect ratings, so publishing either would be fiction. The comparison here is criteria applied openly, with the limitations named alongside the strengths.
